Wellness & Work Life

Work-Life Balance Is a Protocol, Not a Weekend

I don't get a spa day. I name one job for my body, pick three things, and run them for a week. You still decide.

Work-life balance, as sold, is a weekend you never get. A juice. A quote on a mug. Then Monday arrives with the same Slack, the same kids, the same P&L.

I run commercial work, deals, Maliguna, and Aura. I am also a mom of two. That is the #1 job. Everything else has to fit. So I stopped collecting wellness advice and started hiring a protocol the same way I hire a tiny staff.

One named job. Three things I will actually do. Seven days. Then I keep it or I kill it.

That is Aura, in one sentence. Sleep, energy, stress. You still decide. Not another supplement stack.

Balance is not a mood. It is a named job.

Casual wellness is a long chat with yourself. Installed wellness is a job you can say out loud.

Sleep. Energy. Stress. Pick one this week. Not "be healthier." That is a department, not a hire.

If you try to fix sleep and energy and stress and gut and skin in the same seven days, you will buy things and change nothing. I know because I have done that version.

The goal is not to remove yourself from the company. The goal is to stop being the bottleneck in your own body.

The 7-day founder filter

Don't rebuild your life tonight. Pick one job that already costs you 30+ minutes of fog, irritability, or 11pm scrolling. Start there.

Does this job belong on the protocol?

  1. Named. Sleep, energy, or stress. One word you can tell a partner.
  2. Three things max. If it needs a spreadsheet, it will not survive Thursday.
  3. Fits a real week. Kids, calendar, travel. If it only works on a silent retreat, it is not a protocol.
  4. Reversible. If it fails, you know by next Monday and nobody gets hurt.
  5. You still decide. The protocol is staff. You are principal. No app publishes your life without your yes.

Examples that pass: lights down at a set hour. A 10-minute walk after the school drop. No Slack in the bedroom. Protein at breakfast so 3pm is not a negotiation.

Examples that fail: "overhaul my hormones." "Become a morning person." "Do the 47-step stack I screenshotted."

Write the hire, not a vibe

Random advice will not build a teammate for your week. Give the protocol four things, once:

1. One job.
2. What "done" looks like in seven days.
3. The three moves it can use.
4. What still needs your yes.

Keep diagnoses, prescriptions, and "never miss a day" behind a human. If sleep, energy, or stress is a clinical issue, talk to a licensed person. Aura is a protocol you run. It is not a doctor.

Steal this. Paste it tonight.

You are my [sleep / energy / stress] protocol for the next 7 days. My real constraints: two kids, a full calendar, I travel. Give me 3 things I will actually do. What "done" looks like on day 7. What you are unsure about. 3 things I should verify with a person. Do not flatter me. Do not add supplements I did not ask for. I still decide.

You'll know it worked if you can run it on a messy Wednesday. Then, if the job is worth it, generate a fuller protocol at wellnessbyaura.com. Pick 3. Run them. Kill or keep.

Why I built Aura this way

I got tired of wellness that assumed I had an empty Tuesday. I didn't. I still don't.

Aura turns one named job into a protocol you can actually run. Eastern practice and western longevity science, labeled so you can see the claim. You still decide. That is the product because that is how I live.

Work-life balance, for me, is not leaving the companies. It is designing recovery in, the same way I design a commercial system. Household. Work. Body. One page. Then the week can start.

Casual wellness is another tab. Installed wellness is a named job with an owner. You.

If you want the weekly operating version of this, I wrote The Sunday Reset for Founders Who Don't Get a Day Off. Thirty minutes. Household, work, recovery.

Run one protocol this week

This is how I run my week as a founder. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a promise. If you need a clinician, start there.
